Culture as a tessera.
In a mosaic, a single tessera means nothing on its own. Together with others, it forms a picture. That is how we understand culture: something built by many people and which is never finished.
About us
Espacio La Tesela is a non-profit cultural association. It was founded in Lucena on 29 February 2024, a day that only occurs once every four years.
We have premises on Calle Veracruz which house a coworking space, an exhibition space and an open, intergenerational and intercultural programme of events. The three elements feed into one another: those who come to work come across an exhibition, and those who come for a workshop discover a place to work.
Culture, space and community
Promote Culture
It belongs to everyone and is a right. We support the work done by others.
Create Space
A place with an open door, where people work, create and come together.
Weave Community
Local residents, artists, collectives and organisations, of all ages and backgrounds.
What we’re all about
So that culture can reach everyone, wherever they come from and whatever their age, and so that anyone with a story to tell has a place to tell it.
